The OpenManage™ Integration Suite for Microsoft® System Center offers the following no-charge downloads for managing Dell products in virtualized environments with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) and System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) or System Center Essentials (SCE) 2010:
- Dell Server PRO (Performance and Resource Optimization) Management Pack Version 2.1 with PRO-Tips integrates with System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008 and SCOM 2007 or SCE 2010 to provide effective management of physical Dell™ PowerEdge™ servers that host virtual workloads. The Dell Server PRO Management Pack enables PRO-Tip recommendations and remedial actions based on hardware alerts generated by Dell servers that host virtual machines (VMs) in Microsoft Hyper-V™ environments. Recommendations include live migration of the VMs or placement of the host server in a restricted maintenance mode.
Dell was one of the first vendors to release a PRO-Pack that provides support for the live migration features of SCVMM R2 and also provides a default recovery action override feature that enables you to configure customized recovery actions specific for use in your environment.
