Dell Technologies Networking Warranties

Duration of warranty covering repair or replacement of defective hardware. Includes problem diagnosis with Dell Technologies technical support professionals by phone, email or chat during normal business hours to help resolve hardware issues covered under the Basic Hardware Service contract. Service does not include software set up or configuration assistance, or other advanced technical service and support provided by Dell Technologies Services ProSupport Enterprise Suite.

• Lifetime Limited Warranty (LLW) : Select Dell Networking: N-Series, S3100 Series, and PowerConnect™ fixed port switching devices carry a Lifetime Limited Warranty (LLW) which provides Basic Hardware Service (repair or replacement) for as long as you own the product. This lifetime, non-transferrable Basic Hardware Service contract covers repair or replacement to any internal components (fans, power supplies) and also extends to Dell Technologies branded sub-components such as optical transceivers, modules, external power supplies if purchased in conjunction with platform purchase and tied to the service tag of the device. Basic Hardware Service request and diagnosis is limited to business hours only and does not include set up or configuration assistance, or other advanced service and support provided by Dell Technologies ProSupport Services. Dell Technologies does not guarantee backwards compatibility if new switch replacement is inserted into legacy switch environment. Lifetime Warranty does not apply to products purchased before first announcement in Spring 2011. Dates vary by region. Contact customer service to verify if your product qualifies. • Lifetime Limited Warranty for Connectrix (CTX):The Connectrix DS-6610B-L switch is backed by a Lifetime Limited Warranty which combines a ProSupport Next Business Day (NBD) service plan. This warranty covers replacement of defective hardware by NBD (during normal business hours 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday). The service also includes 24x7 technical phone support and access to software maintenance and updates for the Fabric Operating System (FOS). This lifetime, non-transferrable contract is valid until announcement of End of Standard Support (EoSS) and covers replacement of the whole switch and optics tied to the service tag of the device. Installation of new device is performed by Dell Technologies, but Customer has the option to perform installation. If Dell Technologies installs the replacement, Dell Technologies will arrange for its return to a Dell Technologies facility. If Customer installs the replacement, Customer is responsible for returning the replaced device to a facility designated by Dell Technologies using the RMA process. This warranty and service plan is effective as of November 2021.
• Extended Life Warranty (ELW): Select networking products E-Series, X1000 and X4000 Series, Aerohive Access Points, Ruckus ZD Controller and Indoor Access Points, and select W-Series Wireless sold by Dell Technologies carry a non-transferrable Extended Life Limited Hardware Warranty (ELW) which provides Basic Hardware Service (repair or replacement) until 5 years after Dell Technologies stops selling the product as listed in the End of Sale (EoS) matrix. E-Series switches limit warranty for optics and cables to one year. Aerohive and Ruckus product warranty limits power supply, antennae or accessories to one year. Basic Hardware Service request and diagnosis is limited to business hours only and does not include set up or configuration assistance, or other advanced service and support provided by Dell Technologies ProSupport Services. Basic Hardware Service contract is available at dell.com (Listed under Support Services). X-Series Extended Life Warranty Effective December 1, 2017. E-Series warranty effective date is June 27, 2022.
• Limited Warranty :Select Dell Networking products carry a Limited Hardware Warranty. Dell Technologies warrants these products for a period of one (1), three (3), five (5), or ten (10) years, commencing from the date of original shipment by Dell Networking, that the hardware portion of the product(s) purchased from Dell Networking or its authorized resellers, shall be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and will perform substantially in accordance with Dell Networking’s published specifications provided to Customer with the Hardware that are applicable to the product release purchased. If the Hardware fails to comply with the foregoing warranty during the applicable warranty period (a "Defect"), Dell Networking, at its sole discretion, shall repair or replace the Hardware that is determined to be defective, provide a workaround for the non-conforming Hardware, or if replacement or repair is impractical, refund the fees paid by Customer for such non-conforming Hardware. The warranted Hardware may include some used, refurbished or remanufactured components which are warranted the equivalent of new. Replacement response time will vary based on regional location and shipping restrictions. Optical transceivers, cables, modules, LEDs, fans, external power supplies, and other accessories are warrantied for one year and covered if purchased at time of platform purchase and tied to the service tag of the device. H-Series OmniPath cables are covered for three years and 90 days for mechanical components such as rail kits, air baffles, filler panels, etc. Limited warranty applies to the original owner and is not transferable. *Connectrix devices were upgraded to a three year warranty in June 2022. Any Connectrix purchase prior to that date is limited to one year warranty.

Service Response Level definitions for Hardware Warranty Repair/Replacement:

4-hour or 8-hour Onsite - Repair/Replacement is performed by Dell Technologies technician within time specified within service contract
Next Business Day (NBD) Onsite - Repair/Replacement is performed by Dell Technologies technician by NBD
Next Business Day (NBD) Parts only - Repair/Replacement is shipped to customer by NBD. Installation of device is the responsibility of the customer.
Return to Depot - Repair/Replacement is shipped to customer after receipt of non-working hardware using Return Materials Authorization (RMA) request. Dell Technologies shall repair or replace the defective unit within ten (10) business days of receipt of the defective Product.

Dell Technologies will make every effort to repair or replace defective hardware in the time specified in the warranty terms table. Repair/Replacement covers service parts and/or whole unit exchange to repair and/or replace defect(s) in workmanship occurring within the hardware warranty period. Customers seeking to protect their hardware investment beyond the standard warranty period require a ProSupport service contract. ProSupport provides 24x7 access to networking professionals to help you diagnose issues and assist with software related questions. Service response time is based on commercially reasonable effort and may vary by region. Contact your local Dell Technologies service organization for specifics in your area.

Includes all generally available software/OS releases offered for the specific products listed, when and if available for time specified. Customers who desire specific feature updates, patches and fixes to be prioritized into future releases should purchase the appropriate support services from Dell Technologies.

From time to time, Dell Technologies discontinues products, most often to replace them for systems with advanced feature sets. Dell Technologies makes every effort to support these discontinued devices for up to five years after the End of Sale (EoS) announcement. Software downloads will still be available for your product; however, this is not a guarantee for ongoing feature development or software maintenance by Dell Technologies. Customers with the appropriate ProSupport and ProSupport Plus coverage, have the privilege to request specific software feature updates, as well as prioritized patches, and fixes. Any feature updates, patches, and enhancement requests after the End of Sale announcement are reserved to the sole discretion of Dell Technologies. Customers may purchase up to five years of standard support (Basic Support, ProSupport or ProSupport Plus) on Networking devices at time of initial hardware sale and renew for an additional two more years unless the device has reached the End of Standard Support (EoSS) date. Any supported device that reaches the EoSS date or a total life of seven years (whichever is first), may be eligible for additional support coverage to extend life, called Post Standard Support, if the device is qualified under the extension program.

End of Sale (EoS) Definition:

• The date after which a product is no longer available for purchase from Dell Technologies or its worldwide subsidiaries and affiliates
• Software feature enhancements and development are complete at EoS
• After EoS, Dell Technologies Engineering will provide bug fixes/patches for up to 5 years at their discretion

• The EoSS date is defined as five (5) years after End of Sale (EoS)
• After EoSS, existing software updates and fixes/patches will continue to be available, but Dell Technologies will provide no further software maintenance or updates
• Dell Technologies offers no guarantee of backwards compatibility of the software

Dell Technologies takes Cable and Optics (C&O) support with the level of focus and severity warranted as a key part of the Dell solution. If a cable or optical solution refuses to enable or fails during operation – that is an event that can have significant consequences. All Dell Technologies labeled offerings from the Networking catalog are recognized and reported as “Supported”. If you have questions, Dell Technologies support is equipped to address questions that may arise.

To maintain this support, Dell Technologies has in place a rigorous test, qualification, and screening process in order to guarantee that Dell Technologies branded Cables and Optics are the highest quality and are guaranteed to perform reliably. The engineering evaluation places a virtual microscope of focus on the Cables and Optics to measure how each works identifying and eliminating any deviation in electrical or optical specifications.

Dell Technologies solutions makes no guarantee of any support for non-Dell cable and optical solutions. In some cases, a best attempt is made to enable connectivity, but without further Dell Technologies Cables and Optics encoding this is deemed our best effort based on the standard. Any deviation from the standard by the manufacturer cannot be anticipated or accounted for. Additionally, some 3rd party vendors write their ‘best guess’ of what Dell Technologies encodes into our branded optics in an attempt to trick the Dell Technologies firmware. Note that Dell Technologies support will recognize these fake Cables and Optics and will not support them.

End of Security Support Definition:

• EoSecS marks the end of security support, including any and all remediation of security vulnerabilities and any and all software security updates
• EoSecS for hardware aligns with EoSS date for the product
• EoSecS for hardware is applicable to PowerSwitch E, S, or Z Series and VEP products
