This article provides information on "How to remove the battery, phone SIM, keyboard screw cover, keyboard and access panel on the Dell Latitude E6510"

Note: During installation or removal of any hardware, always ensure all data is backed up properly, disconnect any telephone, network or USB cables from the computer and disconnect the computer and any attached devices from their electrical outlets.

1. Removing the battery


  1. Slide both battery latches toward the center of the system.

  2. Slide the battery out of the system and remove

  3. Complete.

2. Removing the SIM

  1. Pre-removal Instructions
    • Remove the battery.

  2. Locate the SIM card.

  3. Press the SIM card and release.

  4. Remove the SIM card.

  5. Complete

3. Removing the keyboard screw cover


  1. Pre-removal instructions
    • Remove the battery.
    • Remove the SIM card.

  2. Release the 4 hooks.

  3. Remove the LED cover from the system.

  4. Complete.

4. Removing the keyboard

  1. Pre-removal instructions
    • Remove the battery.
    • Remove the SIM card.
    • Remove the keyboard screw cover.

  2. Remove the two screws securing the keyboard to the system.

  3. Using the plastic tab, lift the back edge of the keyboard slightly(about 15 degree gap from the base) to release the keyboard snaps on the left and right side, and then slide the keyboard toward the back of the system and remove.

  4. Complete.
