1.


System Cover Removal



1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the First Removal:
  • During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly

  • Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

  • Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets


2. Establishing image.



3. Slide back the cover release latch.



4. Tilt the system cover from the top outward.



5. Remove the system cover.



6. Complete.

Optical Drive Removal



1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Second Removal:
  • During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly

  • Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

  • Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets

  • Remove the system cover


2. Establishing image.



3. Disconnect the power cable from the optical drive.



4. Disconnect the SATA cable from the optical drive.



5. Push down on the drive release latch.



6. Slide the optical drive toward the back of the system.



7. Lift the back edge of the optical drive up.



8. Slide the optical drive out of the system.



9. Complete.

3.


Media Bay Drive Removal



1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Third Removal:
  • During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly

  • Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

  • Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets

  • Remove the system cover and optical drive


2. Establishing image.



3. Disconnect the data cable from the media bay drive.



4. Press down on the drive release latch.



5. Slide the drive toward the back of the system.



6. Lift the edge of the drive that is closest to the center of the system up.



7. Slide the drive toward the center of the system.



8. Lift the back edge of the drive.



9. Rotate the drive around to free it of the guide rails.



10. Remove the media bay drive from the system.



11. Complete.

4.


Hard Drive Removal



1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Fourth Removal:
  • During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly

  • Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

  • Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets

  • Remove the system cover


2. Establishing image.



3. Press the hard drive carrier release latches.



4. Rotate the hard drive carrier up.



5. Slide the hard drive carrier toward the front of the system.



6. Turn the hard drive carrier over.



7. Disconnect the power cable from the hard drive.



8. Disconnect the SATA cable from the hard drive.



9. Remove the SATA cable from its routing on the hard drive carrier.



10. Remove the hard drive carrier from the system.



11. Gently pry the two hard drive release tabs away.



12. Lift the hard drive carrier away from the hard drive and remove.



13. Complete.

5.


2.5"Hard Drive Removal



1. Pre-Removal Instructions Before removing the Fifth Removal:
  • During installation or removal of any hardware always ensure all data is backed up properly

  • Disconnect any telephone, network, or USB cables from the computer

  • Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets

  • Remove the system cover and hard drive


2. Establishing image.



3. Disconnect the power cable from the primary hard drive



4. Disconnect the power cable from the secondary hard drive



5. Remove the power cable.



6. Disconnect the data cable from the primary hard drive.



7. Disconnect the data cable from the secondary hard drive.



8. Remove the four screws from the primary hard drive.



9. Remove the primary hard drive.



10. Flip the hard drive carrier over.



11. Remove the four screws from the secondary hard drive.



12. Remove the secondary hard drive.



13. Complete.
