Check the power cable and switch


To check the power cable and switch:
  1. Locate the power cable and switch on the rear of the system.


  2. The rear of the printer is shown. On the lower back cover, slightly to the right of centre	a grey IEC C14 socket is highlighted. A C13 cable is connected, immediately to the right there is a rocker style power switch.

  3. Switch the power off.
  4. Remove the power cable, check for damage to the cable and socket.
  5. Re-insert the power cable, switch the power on

Test using a cable and wall socket you know are working


Test the printer using a power cable and wall socket currently working with other equipment, for example a desktop PC or monitor.

3.

Test with consumables and optional items removed


To test with consumables and optional items removed:
  1. Switch the power off.
  2. Remove the toner cartridge and imaging drum.
  3. If additional memory or a 550 sheet feeder are installed, remove them.
  4. Switch the printer on.

If the printer powers on with components removed, switch the power of then reinsert the parts one at a time testing the printer between each part.
