Federated search
Significantly reduce response time no matter where the data is stored by searching multiple email data sources simultaneously all from a single interface, including Office 365, on-premises mailboxes (and archives), public and personal folders (.pst), offline Exchange databases (.edb) and Dell Software Archive Manager.

Intelligent search
Ensure a thorough and prompt response to a requests by searching number patterns or keywords using an Outlook-like search. You can even search in the message body, ID, headers, message classes, categories, deleted items, conversation threads and attachment type and content. Expand those search results to include all messages with the same sender, all messages with the same or similar subject or all related messages.

Comparison reporting
Quickly restore data from the source to the target and enable users and projects to get back on track. By comparing content in selected source and target email sources, you can use the results to pinpoint lost or deleted content.

Migration support
Quickly confirm what was migrated, recover data and resume the migration in the event of a power failure or system glitch. Search the source and target migration platforms and respond quickly if an investigation happens mid-migration. Streamline user access to historical email that was not migrated. Promptly respond to interruptions reducing costs of delays and risks to achieving milestones.

Task automation
Automate and schedule search and export of email data. To further automate critical tasks, use PowerShell to script additional options. You’ll be able to accelerate response to discovery requests and reduce organizational risk.

Export options
Export search results as .pst, .eml, .msg or .txt formats or to an Exchange on-premises or Exchange Online (Office 365) mailbox, archived mailbox, public folder or Dell Software Archive Manager to ensure less disruption to IT resources and significantly reduce response time.

Backup software
Find and retrieve data from most third-party backup software, including Dell Software NetVault, AppAssure and vRanger backups, as well as EMC NetWorker, IBM Tivoli, Microsoft Data Protection Manager, and Symantec Backup Exec and NetBackup.
  • Before installing Recovery Manager for Exchange 5.7, ensure that your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements.

    Exchange Server 2007 without SP or with SP1, SP2, or SP3
    Exchange Server 2003 without SP or with SP1 or SP2
    Exchange Server 2000 without SP or with SP1, SP2, or SP3
    Exchange Server 5.5 without SP or with SP1, SP2, SP3, or SP4(Exchange emulation is not supported for this version)

    NOTE:
    Recovery Manager for Exchange does not support Exchange Cached Mode. Before you start working with an online Exchange Server (for example, before registering Exchange mailboxes as storages), make sure that Exchange Server allows connections in non-Cached Exchange Mode.
    To work with Exchange Server databases, Recovery Manager for Exchange requires several .dll files supplied with Microsoft Exchange Server. For detailed information about these files, see the Recovery Manager for Exchange User Guide.
    To link Recovery Manager for Exchange to the required .dll files originating from Exchange Server 2013, 2010, or 2007, you must install Recovery Manager for Exchange on a computer running a 64- bit edition of Windows.

    IBM Lotus Notes
    In order to view, search, and restore Lotus Domino data with Recovery Manager for Exchange, your computer must have one of the following IBM Lotus Notes versions installed: 9.0, 8.5, 8.0, or 7.0

    Recovery Manager for Exchange supports the following versions of IBM Lotus Domino: 9.0, 8.5, 8.0, 7.0, 6.5, 6.0, 5.0, and 4.6

    Dell Archive Manager
    Recovery Manager for Exchange supports the following versions of Archive Manager as source and target storages: 5.0, 4.8, 4.7, and 4.6

    Dell Recovery Manager for Active Directory
    Recovery Manager for Exchange can integrate with the following versions of Recovery Manager for Active Directory to restore mailbox user accounts from Active Directory backups: 8.5, 8.2, and 8.1 Recovery Manager for Exchange and Recovery Manager for Active Directory must be installed on the same computer.

    Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)
    Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, or 8.5 must be installed on the Recovery Manager for Exchange computer.

    IMPORTANT: On Windows Server 2003 or earlier, IIS must be running in the 32-bit mode. If your IIS is running in the 64-bit mode, the Recovery Manager for Exchange Setup configures it to run in the 32-mode. As a result, other applications using your IIS may stop functioning properly.

    Microsoft Silverlight
    Microsoft Silverlight 5 must be installed on the computer from which you want to access the Web Interface. If Silverlight is not installed, you will be prompted to install it when accessing the Web Interface for the first time.

    Web browser
    You can access the Web Interface by using Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or later

    Recovery Manager for Exchange 5.7.1 is upgradeable from version 5.1 or later.

    Recovery Manager for Exchange can integrate with the below-listed backup software to extract and register Exchange Server databases from streaming (normal, incremental, and differential) backups created with these products. The next table also describes the conditions where Recovery Manager for Exchange can extract and register Exchange Server databases from VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Snapshot) backups created with particular backup software.
