The Dell Foundation is committed to contributing significantly to the quality of life in communities where Dell employees live and work. The Foundation supports innovative and effective programs that provide fundamental prerequisites to equip youth to learn and excel in a world driven by the digital economy.
The Foundation supports a wide range of programs that benefit children newborn to 17 years of age in Dell's principal US locations, and welcomes proposals from non-profit organizations that address the health and human services, the education, and the technology access for youth as described below.
Qualifications: Basic
- Must provide direct programs and services to youth ages newborn to high school seniors
- Must be designated by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization
- Open Grant partners must be located in one of the following areas:

Funding requests to the Foundation cannot exceed 20 percent of an organization's total annual operating budget.Through two-year partnerships with non-profit organizations, the Dell Foundation supports Healthy Community, Literate Community, and Connected Community programs. Healthy Communities Grants: Through two-year partnerships with organizations, the Dell Foundation helps empower its communities to address basic needs for children, such as food, shelter, safety, and healthcare. Literate Communities Grants: Through two-year partnerships with organizations, the Dell Foundation helps empower its communities to address basic needs of quality education, particularly in math, science and literacy. Connected Communities Grants: Through two-year partnerships with organizations, the Dell Foundation helps empower its communities to address technology and access to areas of the community where there is an identified need. Open Grants: Non-profit organizations that provide direct services to children in Central Texas, Middle Tennessee, Twin Falls, Idaho and Winston-Salem, NC, but do not fit into the above-mentioned categories, may apply to the Dell Foundation for an open grant of up to $5,000. Funding is limited, with final decisions made on the following schedule:
