Dell technology is helping Ruby Tuesday, one of the nation's largest casual restaurant dining companies, drive growth, increase efficiency and reduce costs at its more than 830 company-owned and franchise locations in the United States.
Ruby Tuesday chose Dell to provide hardware as well as installation and project management services. The company purchased bundled kitchen and bar display systems from Dell. Each Ruby Tuesday restaurant uses three to four kitchen systems and one bar system, with more than 3,500 systems nationwide.
Ruby Tuesday's new kitchen display systems automatically coordinate orders based on the differing cook times of its menu selections. Cooks now need less experience and training, as they only need to cook individual menu items based on the system's instructions. Managers can also generate reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Additionally, cooks and bartenders can use the systems to look up recipe cards and plate assembly instructions, allowing Ruby Tuesday to eliminate the expense of printing and shipping recipe cards.
"We constantly evaluate our use of technology to improve operations, achieve superior customer service and create a competitive advantage", said Nick Ibrahim, Ruby Tuesday's senior vice president and chief technical officer. "Dell technology and services have allowed us to reinvent the experience for our patrons, helping Ruby Tuesday increase sales and significantly decrease expenses."
"Ruby Tuesday, like Dell, strives to better serve customers," said Vince Vargas, senior manager, Dell Retail. "Standards-based technology and services from Dell can help retail businesses of all sizes improve operations and the customer experience."
