Cluster Installation
Dell offers cluster installation services for both our fibre channel and SCSI cluster implementations. The cluster services include on-site installation and fail-over testing of the appropriate cluster software and hardware.
PowerEdge Upgrades
Dell offers a comprehensive family of PowerEdge upgrade services that provide on-site installation of controllers, processors, tape backup units, hard drives, and memory. To help ensure your PowerEdge system will continue to serve your needs as your processing requirements grow, we also sell system upgrade kits for selected Dell PowerEdge models and can install them on a custom basis.
Installation Coordination
- Prior to scheduling installations for complex systems (Fibre Channel storage or clustering), installation planning information must be documented by Dell in the "Pre-Site Configuration Survey", with input from the appropriate customer representative(s).
- At the time of purchase of an installation service, the Dell Sales Representative will need to verify your "ship to" information. Please be prepared to provide the name, phone number and email address of the person within your organization with whom we can coordinate the installation. This will help to make sure that your installation proceeds with increased efficiency.
- Installations will be done during the hours of local customer time 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. (After-hours and weekend installation is available on a custom basis.)
- Within 24 hours of your Dell product shipping, Dell will attempt to contact you to confirm the contact information and review the specifics of the installation service. Once contact has been made, the installer will be notified.
- The installer will initiate contact with you within 24 hours to schedule the installation.
- Our goal is for the installer to arrive at your site within 5 to 10 days (servers and storage) from the date they receive notification.
- Multi-product orders will be scheduled based on the shipment date of the last product shipped to ensure a fully integrated on-site installation of your new system.
