What is Voice Communications Continuity?
Dell Voice Communications Continuity is a SaaS-enabled solution that provides an emergency voice communication network to help enable continuous communications during telecommunications outages. Used by its subscribers as an emergency standby network, this service helps provides assurance that communications can be delivered via virtually any network, to virtually any voice-enabled device, regardless of the user’s location.

How is this service provided?
Dell Voice Communications Continuity is a hosted, SaaS-enabled solution, delivered over both the Internet and telephony networks. It is delivered as a service on a subscriber basis, independent of current telecom contracts and requiring no change of service, purchase of equipment, or software.

How is the service activated?
The service is user-activated when an organization anticipates or is experiencing an outage. The service is always in a standby mode and can be activated via a web browser, email, text message or telephone.

How do users receive phone calls with this service?
Subscribers can be reached at their usual telephone number or through a special toll-free emergency number. Users can receive and place calls over any working device: home phone, cell phone, hotel phone, IP phone, soft phone, PDA etc.

Do I need to preplan where I want my calls to go?
No. With this service, pre-planning the telecom recovery sequence and the ongoing work of maintaining up-to-date telephone trees are no longer necessary. Dell Voice Communications Continuity can link together all operating networks and activated users within minutes of system activation.

How does this service maintain continuity of my telecommunications?
Dell Voice Communication Continuity’s unique combination of path diversity, network diversity, geographic dispersion, and distributed network architecture effectively reroutes telephone traffic around network congestion and network points of failure. The service constantly monitors the internet and PSTN networks for outages in order to efficiently re-route traffic if necessary.
