- The Dell Readiness Advisor automates and centralizes the collection, assessment, and reporting of the information required to determine the readiness of computers in an organization for deployment of Windows Server® 2008.
- The Dell Readiness Advisor simplifies the process of migrating servers to Windows Server® 2008 by providing wizard-based support for completing the inventory and assessment.
- The Dell Readiness Advisor tool can be run from any server, workstation or laptop computer that has Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installed. You must be an administrator to run the Dell Readiness Advisor tool.

The Dell Windows Server® 2008 Readiness Advisor is a free online tool, that provides you with direction on which Dell servers are Windows Server® 2008 ready. This user friendly tool scans your network, based on the parameters you choose, to identify the servers that may need to be updated to support the new operating system.
Because it is not possible for Dell to test all hardware and software configurations on pre-release software, there may be some systems listed as not supported, but may be supported on the released software. Additionally, the listing of a particular system identified by the Dell Windows Server® 2008 Readiness Advisor does not mean that all of the subsystems embedded in that system are fully tested and/or that all systems, peripherals and options have undergone extensive functional testing.
Reports generated by the Dell Readiness Advisor are based on testing completed to date with pre-release builds of Windows Server® 2008. The reports are intended to provide guidance on the readiness state of your Dell servers in order to support the new operating system .
