Software Certification

Because they can't afford downtime, workstation users require out-of-box compatibility with a wide variety of workstation-class applications in CAD (computer-aided design), CAE (computer-aided engineering), AEC (architecture, engineering, construction), DCC (digital content creation) and Oil & Gas markets just to name a few. This drives the necessity for hardware OEMs to maintain a rigorous testing and certification program.

To help ensure hardware and software compliance and superior performance in our workstations, Dell partners with the industry's leading graphics manufacturers. These manufacturers work with software partners to rigorously test and validate their graphics boards with the workstation industry's primary applications.

"CAD, DCC and Visualization professionals face the world's hardest problems. They expect leading edge performance, top quality, and world class service in their computing environment. Meeting that expectation is the top priority of the NVIDIA/Dell partnership. NVIDIA Quadro professional graphics solutions, found in Dell Precision mobile and desktop workstations, deliver the features and performance they demand and are fully certified for a wide range of applications used in these industries."

- Dan Vivoli, Executive Vice President of Marketing, NVIDIA

As part of our approved workstation configurations, Dell also certifies our workstations with the same graphics board versions installed to help ensure compatibility as part of a total workstation solution. Dell workstations undergo rigorous component and driver testing in our labs in Austin, Texas, and in the labs of our software and component partners. All of these tests attempt to emulate the conditions of real world environments to help us improve overall reliability and optimization. The result is a workstation that comes standard with confidence.

"From automotive to aerospace, visual effects production to oil & gas exploration, today's industries rely on powerful workstations from Dell with ATI FireGL graphics inside. ATI's combination of high performance, high quality imaging with affordable, low power consumption, certified solutions are an ideal fit for Dell Precision desktop and mobile workstations."

- Joe Chien, General Manager, Workstation Products, ATI Technologies
