QWhat is TDD/TTY? What are Dell's TDD/TTY and Voice Relay Services?
A
  • TTY (Teletype) is used by deaf and hearing-impaired individuals who can't use a conventional phone. Conversations are read, and it is much like communicating in an Internet chat room. Certain specific acronyms are used that help to facilitate the conversation, and there are some points of etiquette to follow.
  • TTY customers can call Dell toll free at 1-877-DELLTTY (335-5889) and receive Sales, Technical Support, and Customer Services directly from Dell.
  • Voice Relay for Onsite Service is also available. Please note that when you call one of these numbers that a data or modem connection noise comes on first and you must wait for this to pass, then an operator will come on. At that point you can give the number you wish to connect to. This must be noted for onsite service to connect with the customer.
Customer service for The Texas Relay is 1-800-676-3777.
