Three of the last laptops I've purchased have been bought direct from the manufacturer, have [limited] warranty, include all original software, but they've been refurbished. I've found that you can save anywhere from $100 to $300 and sometimes more! It is important to read the terms on each manufacturer's site as each company may have different definitions and terms regarding their refurbished units"

"My primary reason for lusting (geek-wise) after the XT is it’s a one of a kind machine, for now anyway, supporting capacitive touch. In short, the XT enables the best of both worlds, an active digitizer and touch.
What held me back was the XT was pricey, over $3,000. It’s still pricey, though the price has gone down several hundred dollars. Then, I saw in my favorite hangout, the GottaBeMobile forum, the thread Dell Outlet Refurbs. Basically, you can buy a refurbished XT for about half the price of a new one, and for all intents and purposes the refurbished XT is as good as new. After my usual dithering, I finally went for it, and ordered the XT."

I just recently found an excellent deal on an XPS 420 on the Dell Outlet store and let me just say I am thoroughly impressed. The cosmetics of the system are visually stunning and once I opened the case I was impressed how tidy Dell was with the wiring. I can honestly say I am done with making my own. For the price, and what I received all I can say is "WOW". I couldn't even of built it that cheap. I don't know about the rest of you but Dell Support has been top notch for me.
