  • No. The DCSE program will remain active only for Dell Service Providers.
3. Will successful completion of DDET allow me to receive service calls from Dell to perform warranty work?

  • Dell uses 5 global service providers to perform warranty services. At this time we are not seeking additional service providers.

Customers must be part of a larger Dell program such as Dell ProSupport for IT to perform work on Dell systems without affecting the warranty (training and certification required). Through Dell ProSupport for IT, you and your IT staff can receive Dell training and certification in order to qualify for Fast-Track Dispatch, where you can bypass basic troubleshooting to order parts and/or labor when you already know what the issue is.
6. What is the cost for DDET? What is included?
  • The price of DDET is $179 per technician per year. This covers all three of the DDET exams:
    Dell Training for Desktop Systems
    Dell Training for Notebook Systems
    Dell Training for PowerEdgeTM  Systems
7. If I don’t pass the DDET exam(s) on the first attempt is there a fee to re-test?

9. My DCSE status doesn’t expire until October 2009 – do I need to test for DDET now?
  • No. Your DCSE status will transfer to DDET and will remain active until expiration. You can test for DDET at anytime.
10. Will successful completion of DDET allow me to perform warranty repair service for my company?
  • No. Only customers who are enrolled in Dell’s ProSupport for IT Fast-Track Dispatch or Warranty Parts Direct programs can service their own systems (in accordance with the terms of the program) without affecting the warranty.
