Allen Technologies’ Vigo Interactive Patient Communication System transforms a hospital television into an interactive communication and education system that improves quality of care, patient satisfaction, and patient safety scores. Vigo turns a TV into a patient entertainment system, allowing patients to divert their thoughts, by providing a variety of games, TV channels, Internet, email, movies, books and music. It is also a tool designed to assist hospital staff in improving efficiency. Hospital staff can securely access a wide variety of clinical applications at the patient’s bedside, including X-Rays and medical records. Vigo eliminates manual ticket-based food service by providing patients with the ability to order from an approved menu, or by interfacing into a hospital’s dietary system. Patient education includes videos, information and questionnaires, and is tailored to a patient’s diagnosis. Questionnaires can be displayed to the patient, and hospital administrators can pull reports as needed.
