 | | Is Windows Server Foundation the Right Solution for You? |
|
Windows Server Foundation is an ideal first server and can be deployed easily to create a single-server network. Windows Server Foundation can be deployed in a variety of ways to help meet your needs, including core infrastructure, active directory, terminal services (remote desktop) and line of business applications. Because of the way Windows Server Foundation is licensed, Windows Server client access licenses (CALs) are not required. Instead, Windows Server Foundation is licensed by user accounts, and each license of Windows Server Foundation is limited to a maximum of 15 user accounts. Moreover, a user account can be assigned to only one distinct user at a time. Have more than 15 users? Need virtualization? Run data intensive applications? Consider Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition. |
