When did you join Dell and what roles have you held in your time here?
I joined Dell on February 5, 2007 and have held a number of Sales and Sales Support positions across the CSB and Commercial businesses. During my time at Dell, I’ve been a US Consumer Sales Representative/Mentor, Backlog Management Lead, Smart Selection Program Lead, Large Relationship Sales Project Manager, and a Global Proposals Program Manager.
Tell us about the career development opportunities at Dell and what inspired you to apply for the Global Sales Operations Rotation Program (GSO-RP)?
What inspired me to apply for GSO-RP was the fact that I knew it was my chance to grow and thrive in my career in a completely new environment and work style. The development opportunities at Dell are wide and endless, and being in the program, I’ve been able to pay attention to many aspects of the business and truly take a step back to understand not only what I like, but also what may not be the right fit for me in the future. My expectations of the GSO-RP have definitely been surpassed in my time in the program.
What has been the best part about participating in GSO-RP?
First thing that comes to mind is the idea of connecting with others, ideas, business processes and making the “Dell World” a smaller place. The best part of the program is getting to know my peers and consistently gaining knowledge from their work experience and having each other as fantastic resources. If I don’t know how to do something outside of my usual scope, I know that someone on my team will have the skill or talent to help, as I would for them.
What has been your most rewarding project so far in your career at Dell?
My most rewarding project at Dell is founding, creating, implementing, building and sustaining the North America Consumer Ships Fast Program. Globally, the program I led was (and is to this day) considered “Best of Breed” as far as selling highest volume Smart Selection configurations, which amounted to millions in savings due to shipping product via the ocean.
How would you describe the Dell culture?
In my experience at Dell what has stuck out the most to me is how free and open the culture and communication is. At Dell, we’re encouraged to think outside of the box, take intelligent risks and bring new ideas to the table.

What advice would you give others who are considering applying for one of Dell’s Development programs?
My best advice is to be ready to challenge yourself every single day and be open to change and evolution.
