The problem is real — And it’s global

With depleting natural resources and increased air pollution, clearly the world's climate is changing — and changing rapidly with a speed that may be directly attributable to human activity. We should re-examine how we care for mother nature — our behavior today can make a dramatic difference tomorrow.

The energy and resources institute (TERI), headquartered in New Delhi, India, has been tackling environmental issues for more than 35 years. TERI addresses rising concerns around the globe through innovative and sustainable solutions.

Knowledge is power

Supporting its vision of global sustainable development through advanced solutions, TERI, in partnership with Dell Youth Learning, launched the Climate EduXchange initiative. This initiative aims to improve environmental education in schools across India — engaging students from all segments in society in research and action through use of information and interactive online tools. By raising awareness and understanding of climate change issues, the program motivates and educates students, enabling them to take action against the growing problems facing our future.

Funded by the Youth Learning initiative, TERI can bridge the knowledge gap through digital media, and is working to enhance its program offerings through peer educators and other environmental professionals.

Founded in early 2009, the program reaches out to more than 300 schools across India (with approximately 100 children per school as the core group) — building a large base of 30,000 students. The group intends to educate even more students, expanding the impact of the program though a multiplier effect.
