Dell has completed its acquisition of Wyse Technology, the global leader in cloud client computing, to significantly extend its desktop virtualization offerings. The addition of Wyse expands Dell’s desktop virtualization capabilities and provides new opportunities for the full range of Dell’s enterprise solutions and services.
Why Wyse Technology
Wyse Technology, ranked No. 1 in thin client unit shipment volume on 4Q 2011, has shipped more than 20 million units worldwide and has over 200 million people interacting with its products each day. The company has more than 3000 resellers worldwide. The Wyse solutions portfolio includes industry-leading thin client solutions with advanced management, desktop virtualization and cloud software. The two companies view and approach to the Desktop Virtualization space are similar in approach and opportunity.

“Previously, with the Dell OptiPlex FX170 Dell had robust hardware but many software-/management features were not available. So our customers decided either to remain at Dell OptiPlex fat clients or to purchase competitive products from specialized thin client producers. With the acquisition of Wyse and an appropriate integration into the end-to-end solution Dell could start to be in a more competitive position at the thin client market. In the future, the focus should be placed on both the hardware and the management software.”
Klaus Gambke, Key Account Manager, ACP IT Solutions AG Munich - Channel Partner
“By the acquisition of Wyse great opportunities arise for circular as partner of both companies. Now we are able to use the entire portfolio of two market-leading companies to design the best solutions for our customers and to use the accordingly competitive advantages. In the past the circular Informationssysteme GmbH already combined the technologies of both companies, complemented by our years of expertise in server and desktop virtualization, to offer the optimal overall solution to our end customers. In future we will be able to respond more quickly to the needs of our customers and to offer data center infrastructure, virtualization technologies as well as Thin-, Zero- and cloud devices from a single source with a uniform service concept.”
Florian Rätzer, Account Manager Research and Education (Wyse certified Sales Specialist - WCSS) - Channel Partner
