Dell Services was named a winner of this year’s Best Outsourcing Thought Leadership award for business process outsourcing (BPO) innovation by The Outsourcing Institute, the premier association dedicated to providing research, information and other services to the global outsourcing industry. Dell’s Automated Full-Time Equivalent (AFTE), an end-to-end, differentiated and value-driven innovative solution won the award under the "Good to Great Innovation" category.

The BOTL Awards highlight the most innovative BPO work from providers across the outsourcing industry. They recognize the best thought leadership pieces that showcase real world use cases that encompass innovation, creativity and results within their existing client engagement.

The BOTL Awards panel of judges comprised of eight senior sourcing executives and business decision makers from Fortune 1000 enterprises selected winners in each award category: Speed, Cost Reduction, Innovation and Best in Show. Each case study submission was evaluated on its purpose - client's concern, issues and tasks, the significance/innovation of the case study approach and solution, the results, and positive effects to the client's bottom line.

Dell has automated critical business processes for customers across industry verticals using the Dell AFTE solution. The solution automates complex processes like medical coding, claims adjudication, repetitive data entry or rules based data capture, finance and accounting. It includes accounts receivable management, while improving speed-to-market and an estimated 10–15 percent improvement of productivity and quality.

This model is the application of tools and methodology to repeat specific steps without variation and with a high degree of accuracy, perform certain activities automatically, and utilize a complex set of sequential process activities, logically broken down by business rules.

The awards were presented at the BPO Innovations Conference Oct. 30, 2014 in New York City.
