Our leaders emerge through mentorship, encouragement and opportunities that are just the right blend of rewarding and challenging. We invest in our people and have developed a series of special programs that facilitate young team members as they pursue a career that fulfills their ambitions and potential. From one-on-one meetings with mentors to regular 360-degree feedback and routine check-ins with a long-term career plan, our team members have ample opportunity to become the leaders they’re meant to be.

Structured Programs in Dell Finance
Dell has a variety of programs that help finance team members accelerate their career. You’ll find a host of challenging assignments, all strategically designed to enhance your skill sets and cultivate leadership abilities. Dell Finance team members, who are interested in these programs, are asked to discuss with their managers and mentors to learn more.
Undergraduate Finance Development Program
Dell’s 2-year Finance Development Program (FDP) gives entry-level undergraduates or the equivalent an opportunity to launch their finance careers. This accelerated program consists of four finance rotational assignments and a significant MBA-type academic program building solid financial and business acumen skills. Each rotation is six months in length and many are global in scope.
Finance Rotation Program
This 3-year Finance Rotation Program (FRP) is designed to develop effective leadership qualities through challenging positions, breadth of experience, executive mentoring relationships and strategic projects. The program builds critical thinking skills and strengthens financial and business acumen.
Global Audit & Transformation
Global Audit & Transformation (GAT) is an industry-leadership-development organization that produces future Dell leaders by providing accelerated development opportunities through diverse rotational assignments across different regions and business functions. We offer short-term and longer term rotational development opportunities for high-performing talent across all our business functions interested in accelerating their development, broadening business and finance acumen, and building leadership capabilities early in their professional career.
Individual development is accelerated through a host of structured, formal technical curriculums, online, classroom and on-the-job learning and development, individual development plans, structured management development, symposium events, leadership and competency development. Continuous performance feedback is the cornerstone of our leadership development model that enables each team member the ability to reach your fullest potential and achieve your career goals.
Global Finance Excellence Program
The Global Finance Excellence Program (GFEP) is focused on advanced finance skills of a strategic and technical nature. The program is directed at management-level team members and contains elements of executive leadership training, strategic thinking activities and simulations. For 18 months, participants receive complex training modules to enhance their critical thinking and analytical skills to prepare them for future executive leadership positions.
Marketing rotation program at Dell
The overarching goal of our internal marketing rotation program is to develop key talent for future leadership roles. Through global, broad-based marketing experience, candidates develop the expertise, skills and perspective to lead the Dell brand into the future.
Throughout the three-year program, participants are challenged with various roles within the marketing function:
- Business unit marketing
- Global marketing
- Product groups
Tasks are global in scale, and through special projects and stretch assignments, participants grow in their abilities to develop, manage and lead key departmental initiatives.
The program is available to marketing professionals who have been with Dell for at least one year. Candidates are nominated by their director and manager, and 10 to 15 participants are selected each year.
Leadership development program
Dell’s leadership development program is for MBAs as well as our internal midcareer top talent. This global program develops management and leadership skills through training, mentoring, on-the-job rotations, as well as customized individual development.
The program goals for each participant are:
- Develop an integrated view of our supply chain
- Develop a global network of Dell professionals
- Gain exposure to executive management
- Enhance communication and presentation skills
- Build a wide breadth of job experience
- Provide opportunities to demonstrate leadership capabilities
