Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I did a double degree in Human Resources and International Studies at the University of Technology, Sydney. It took five years to complete, but it was worth it because I had the opportunity to complete a university exchange in France for a year. I joined EMC in late 2011 – I remember handing in my last essay on the Friday, and then I started with EMC the following week!
What is your current role? Please tell us a little bit about your responsibilities and your team.
I am the Senior Talent Acquisition Coordinator for the Australia New Zealand (ANZ) team. I help schedule interviews, and I’m usually the first point of contact for all candidates. I help with recruiting for graduates (recruiting campaign, screening CV’s, and conducting phone/face-to-face interviews). Also, I manage the TA operations – trying to make everything run smoothly for the team, hiring managers, and candidates. The ANZ TA team consists of me, one Senior TA Manager and two Senior Recruiters. We work very hard in finding the best candidates and champion diversity hiring, but we also remember to laugh and have fun!
Did you participate in any internships before you were hired? If so, tell us about your experience.
I completed a three month internship at EMC as it was a requirement of my university degree. I supported the wider ANZ HR team. I was able to learn about real-world HR policies and processes, as well as how a corporation is run and operates.
What made you choose this role over others?
I wanted to work for a large, global company, and I also got to know the team and company’s culture before I started my internship.
What makes this a great place to work?
My team, culture, benefits and flexibility.
