Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2400 product family supports the core features of the Intel® Xeon® processor E5 family: Intel-integrated I/O (input/output), Intel® Turbo Boost technology 2.0 and Intel® Trusted Execution Technology. These processors offer growing small and medium businesses an easy path to the high performance and reliability of an Intel® Xeon® processor E5 family-based platform. This processor offers up to 12 dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs) and supports the latest PCIe 3.0 I/O interconnect to boost I/O bandwidth.

In order to maximize both memory capacity and PCI throughput of the server system, a two-processor configuration is recommended. Limiting your configuration to one processor will reduce the number of memory channels and PCIe I/O lanes resulting in limited performance and expansion capabilities of your server system.
