Memory
Memory functions like film in that it stores images. However, memory cards allow you to store many more images than film, are reusable and do not affect the quality or light sensitivity of your images. Memory cards are one of the components that determine how fast your camera takes pictures and how many images you can create. Most users want more memory than is provided with their camera. Buy either a card with more megabytes or multiple cards that you can change out.

Click Tip: Cameras with 5 or more megapixels will benefit from higher speed memory — without it, your camera might seem slow.
