Help Me Choose: Wireless

Wireless provides the simplicity of cable-free network connectivity, allowing you to wirelessly access the internet, home and office networks*, or network-connected devices, such as printers, storage, peripherals and other computers.

A wireless card allows you to connect to the internet in high speed from virtually any location where a wireless network is available.* Whether you need to connect around campus, hotspots or airports, Dell’s range of options enables you to choose the wireless card that fits your productivity needs.

Dell offers options for wireless connectivity whether you require a basic connection or the highest-performance WiFi access. In combination with Dell’s superb antenna design, these options provide blazing speed and enhanced reception in areas with weak signals.

Dell’s available internal WLAN cards offer the secure connectivity required by enterprise customers. WiFi certified for interoperability, our cards continue to support the latest industry-standard security protocols, including WPA, WPA2, CKIP, TKIP and built-in hardware support for the highly secure Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-CCMP). Comprehensive 802.1X authentication is supplied with support for common EAP methods, such as LEAP, EAP-FAST, TLS, TTLS and PEAP, and for smartcards including Single Sign On for ease of use.

Dell supports industry standards to help ensure our products work seamlessly with the other devices in your corporate network. In addition to certification from the WiFi Alliance, the available internal WiFi cards are certified compliant with the latest Cisco® Compatibility Extensions standard (CCX version 4) and also support CCKM (Cisco Centralized Key Management) for fast roaming.
