Energy Star Data Center Storage
Companies and federal agencies striving to manage data center electricity costs or work toward company sustainability goals can look to Dell enterprise ENERGY STAR® qualified products to help meet these requirements.
In 2014, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) created the ENERGY STAR Data Center Storage designation. The Energy Star Data Center Storage Specification Version 1.0 includes iSCSI and FC SAN Arrays like Dell Compellent SC, Equallogic PS, and PowerVault MD3 series, but excludes DAS, NAS, Blade, Object and Tape storage. Excluded storage product categories don’t yet have an EPA Energy Star certification standard.

These products can help you meet power efficiency goals established by public and private businesses and organizations.
Customers in the public sector, where ENERGY STAR qualified products may be required, as well as others who simply want performance with environmental benefits, can feel confident that Dell ENERGY STAR Data Center Storage qualified hardware meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and the U.S. Department of Energy.
