Enable agent-free monitoring, managing, maintaining, updating and deploying of Dell severs from any location, regardless of OS status, using Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 7 (iDRAC7) with Lifecycle Controller. iDRAC7 with Lifecycle Controller is available in Dell PowerEdge™ servers as an upgrade, an option or as standard, depending on the server series. Lifecycle Controller simplifies server management, enabling you to:
  • Prevent server failure or reduce recovery time in case of failure
  • Improve productivity and lower total cost of ownership (TCO) by extending the reach of administrators to larger numbers of distant servers
  • Enhance security by providing secure access to remote servers
  • Enhance embedded management by providing local deployment and simplified serviceability through Unified Server Configuration and Web Services for Management (WS-Management) interfaces
 iDRAC7 is available in the following configurations:
  • iDRAC7 Express — supports web browser-based graphic user interface (GUI) and command line access, power monitoring and budgeting, diagnostic features such as crash screen capture, and local and remote configuration and updates; a standard feature for the 600 to 900 series of PowerEdge 12th generation servers and an upgrade option for the 200 to 500 series of PowerEdge 12th generation servers
  • Basic Management with Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) — supports basic hardware management through IPMI 2.0 and text-based console redirection; offers embedded diagnostics and OS installation tools; standard feature in the 200 to 500 series of PowerEdge 12th generation servers
  • iDRAC7 Enterprise — offers all the features of Express and Basic Management with virtual console and media, 1 Gbps dedicated network interface card (NIC), 8 or 16GB virtual Flash (vFlash) memory, public key (PK) and two-level authentication protocol, directory services support, part replacement, remote syslog, crash video playback, boot capture, millisecond power capping and platform monitoring and vFlash partitions; upgrade option for all PowerEdge 12th generation servers in the 200 series and later
  • iDRAC7 Express for Blades — offers single-user virtual console with remote launch, virtual media and all the features of Express and Basic Management; option for all of PowerEdge 12th generation blade servers
Depending on the server series, you may need to install hardware to obtain full feature functionality of iDRAC7 with Lifecycle Controller.
