Meghan JohnsonAt Dell, I have been given the opportunity to gain experience and build strength in competencies I wasn’t able to achieve in the past. I consistently stretch my comfort zone taking on new responsibilities that have allowed me to gain confidence in skills and abilities which have opened doors to expanded leadership roles and opportunities.

My background:

I joined Dell in May 2006 as a Finance Consultant hired to build a solution and cost framework supporting new business and financial tracking for a small services team. I spent two years in that role before receiving a promotion in 2008 to lead the Global Governance and Communication Program for a transformation work-stream designed to help integrate capabilities and improve our solution and delivery framework. Within 12 months of this program, we developed a Continuous Improvement framework, and I was asked to lead a team of improvement professionals focused on driving transformation in our Services business as the Senior Manager of a Service Improvement team. Since that time, my role has grown and responsibilities expanded to other support services functions; including a promotion to Delivery Director in 2011 where I took on large organization operational responsibility as well as strategic transformation programs. This has led me to my current role in Dell Services Global Delivery Operations as the Director of the Service Improvement and Portfolio Management team.

In my current role, I am responsible for managing the Services Technology Investment Portfolio as well as Service Delivery Improvement programs for our Services Customers. We are helping our customers every day on their transformation journey through Service Evolution and Improvement planning. I have seen firsthand the transformation and growth in our Services portfolio as a full solutions provider, and am very proud of the progress we are making to become an Industry leader in this space.

My advice to anyone interested in joining the Dell team…hang on! Dell’s meritocracy is the perfect culture to reward hard work and promote accelerated career growth. As you can see in my experience, your job is likely to change often, and this change helps you stay motivated and offers opportunities for new and exciting challenges. Dell hires really smart people, and we have an incredible leadership team to inspire and challenge us to do our best.
