Join the conversation. #DoMoreHIT

Dell hosted the second healthcare think tank, “The future of information-driven healthcare,” from the W Hotel in Dallas Texas on March 19, 2013. The event was shared over a livestream broadcast where participants could attend virtually using the #DoMoreHIT hashtag on Twitter.

The goal of the event was to discuss the challenges and opportunities on the path to information-driven healthcare as well as to listen to and learn from key influencers in healthcare IT.

The think tank kicked off with words from August Calhoun, VP and GM, Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences, and moderator Brian Ahier. The conversation was then broken into four distinct sessions:

  • Empowering caregivers and consumers The role of IT (impact on workflow improvement/clinical transformation, role of mHealth, security concerns, etc.)
  • Unlocking information EHR, interoperability, HIE (deep dive on challenges to EHR adoption, meaningful use, defining standards, etc.)
  • Unleashing innovation Big data/analytics in healthcare (genomics/personalized medicine, role of cloud, etc.)
  • Wrap up/conclusion (Recap of key themes: each participant summarized their thoughts and shared one key takeaway from HIMSS13)
