The University of Florida wanted to increase the speed and capacity of their HiPerGator supercomputer cluster to accommodate an increasing number of researchers in need of high-performance computing tools. With the addition of Dell PowerEdge C6320 servers equipped with Intel Xeon E5 2698 V3 processors, the university was able to augment HiPerGator’s aggregate core count by 50%, and improve its I/O capability and accelerate computation speed for research jobs.
