The San Diego Supercomputer Center provides high-performance and big data computing resources to meet the needs of the University of California, San Diego, as well as the national research community, including XSEDE. Comet, SDSC’s newest HPC cluster, is built on Dell PowerEdge C6320 servers with Intel® Xeon® Haswell E5 2680v3 processors. Comet is designed as a high-throughput system with unique HPC virtualization capabilities which accommodates a large number of researchers looking for rapid turnaround.
