Removing and Reseating the Belt Unit / Transfer Belt on the Dell 3110cn, 3115cn or 3130cn Color Laser Printer

  1. Make sure the printer is powered off.

  2. Push the side button and open the front cover (Figure 1).

  3. Hold the handles of the belt unit / transfer belt as shown (Figure 2) and open the unit fully.

    Do not touch the inside of the printer. Some parts may be hot. Allow time for the printer to cool before attempting to remove parts in this area.

  4. Hold both sides of the belt unit / transfer belt with both hands and pull up the right side of the unit until the peg on the right side comes out of the groove (Figure 3).

  5. Shift the belt unit / transfer belt to the right and remove the unit from the printer.

  6. Insert the left peg into the hole, and align the other peg with the groove and push down on the right side of the belt unit / transfer belt (Figure 4).

  7. Close the belt unit / transfer belt by pulling it down until it clicks (Figure 5).

  8. Close the front cover (Figure 6).

  9. With the power on, open the front cover and visually inspect the belt unit / transfer belt for scratches or damage.

  10. To inspect the entire surface of the belt unit / transfer belt, open and close the front cover three times.

    Each time the front cover is open, the belt unit / transfer belt rotates one-third of the way around the track.
