Installing Multimedia USB Keyboard Drivers for a Dell™ Dimension™ in Microsoft® Windows® XP - Software Reinstall Guide - 122073

Install the Drivers and Utilities CD

If the Drivers and Utilities CD has already been installed, go directly to the Extract the Driver section.
  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD into the CD drive.

  2. If the CD does not start on its own, click Start, then click Run. In the Open box type x:\autorcd, where x is the drive letter for your CD-ROM drive, click OK.

  3. In the Resource CD Installation window, click OK.

  4. In the InstallShield Wizard window, click Next.

  5. After the program is installed, click Finish and reboot your computer when prompted to do so.

Install the DellTouch™ Software for the Multimedia USB Keyboard Driver

  1. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD in the CD drive.

  2. When the message Welcome Dell™ System Owner appears, click Next.

  3. Click to select All from the System Model menu.

  4. Click to select Windows® XP from the Operating System menu.

  5. Click to select Drivers from the Topic menu to display a list of available keyboard drivers.

  6. Click to select Dell Multimedia USB Keyboard Driver.

  7. Scroll down, then click Extract.

  8. In the Input: Multimedia USB Keyboard Driver window, click Continue.

  9. When the message Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to appears, click OK.

  10. When a message appears asking if you want to create the folder, click Yes. If a message appears asking to overwrite the folder, click Yes to All.

  11. When the message All files were successfully unzipped appears, click OK.

  12. In the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for DellTouch window, click Next.

  13. In the InstallShield Wizard complete window, click to select Yes, I want to restart my computer now.

  14. Remove the Drivers and Utilities CD from the CD drive.

  15. Click Finish.

    The system restarts.
