How to remove the memory on the Alienware M14x R2

Safety precautions

 

-        Turn off the system and any attached peripherals.

-        Disconnect the system and any attached peripherals from AC power.

-        Disconnect any peripherals from the unit.

-        Disconnect any telephone or telecommunications lines from the system.

-        Use a wrist grounding strap and mat when working inside any computer system to avoid electrostatic discharge (ESD) damage.

-        After removing any system component, carefully place the removed component on an anti-static mat.

-        Wear shoes with non-conductive rubber soles to help reduce the chance of being shocked or seriously injured in an electrical accident.

 

Disassembly

1.       Remove the bottom door from the system.

2.      Remove the battery from the computer

          3.      Locate the Memory compartment

 

Optical drive and hard drive should not be removed. Image is for reference only

 

4.     Loosen the two screws securing the Memory cover to the bottom base

 

 

5.      Remove the memory cover

 

 

6.     Gently push the securing clips away from the memory a few millimeters only. The memory will pop up by itself when it is released.

 

           

 

7.      Remove the memory from the system.

 

 

8.     Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the bottom module
