Paper Feed Problems With the V105, V305 and V505 Series Dell™ All-in-One Inkjet Printers - Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) - 340690
Troubleshooting Paper Feed Problems
This knowledge base article helps diagnose and troubleshoot problems with the paper feed process on the Dell V105, V305 and V505 series printers. It covers wrinkling and folding of sheets, skewed or crooked sheets, sheets not feeding into the printer, and feeding of multiple sheets.
Use standard size and 20lb (80 g/m²) weight paper to verify that it feeds properly.
On the printer control panel, use the Left and Right Arrow buttons to highlight Maintenance, then press Select.
Use the Left and Right Arrow buttons to highlight Print Test Page, then press Select.
Verify that standard-sized paper is loaded, then press Select to print a Test Page.
If the Test Page prints normally without the same problem, the problem is related to the document or image you are printing. Use whatever software that was used to create the document for further troubleshooting.
Examine the "L"-shaped color bars at the center of the Test Page (Figure 4) to determine if the colors are properly aligned.

Fold the Test Page at the center dotted line and verify that the dot at the top of the page lines up with the circle at the bottom of the page.
If the colors do not line up or the dot does not align with the circle, in the Dell Imaging Toolbox on the Maintenance tab click Align Ink Cartridges, then print another Test Page.
If the paper feed problem continues to occur with normal bond, plain paper, replace the Dell printer.
Make sure that ink cartridges have been removed from the printer before it is shipped back to Dell.
Please keep all instructions, CDs, cables, printer accessories, and ship just the printer back to Dell.
