Save the file as Show Desktop.scf in the Quick Launch directory as follows:
For Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<Your_name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
For Windows Vista: C:\Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch
Be sure to add the correct extension (.scf). If Notepad appends the filename with .txt, delete the .txt extension.
If the icon does not appear on the Quick Launch Bar after saving, restart the computer. The icon appears when you restart the system.
