This article is intended to walk you through pairing a Dell Bluetooth enabled computer to a external Bluetooth device in addition to providing basic troubleshooting assistance.
Issue 1: Pair to a Bluetooth Device (new and re-pair)
Locate the Bluetooth icon in the lower-right corner of the computer screen.
The Bluetooth icon may be hidden, click the Show hidden icons arrow to show any hidden icons.
Compare the status to Table 1.

Status
Enabled - The Bluetooth adapter is ready to pair with another Bluetooth device.
Connected - The Bluetooth adapter is already connected to a Bluetooth device (if the desired device is not the one its connected to, it will have to be re-paired).
Disabled - The wireless switch is off. For information on how to turn the wireless switch on refer to the Online User's Guide.
The Bluetooth device you are going to pair is within 30 feet (10 meters) of the computer.
Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the lower-right corner of the computer screen.
Click Add a Device.
Put the Bluetooth device in discovery mode. Discovery mode allows the device to be found by your computer and is usually, but not always indicated by a blinking blue LED on the device (refer to your Bluetooth device owner's manual for additional instructions).
For a Dell branded Bluetooth device, click below to learn how to put it in discovery mode. Then proceed to step 6.
For information on how to put your non-Dell device in discovery mode, refer to the Owner's Manual that came with the device.
