How do I change the SCSI IDs on my Dell™ PowerVault™ 120T DLT Autoloader? - KB Article - 146294


Change the SCSI IDs on the Dell™ PowerVault™ 120T DLT Autoloader.

To change the SCSI ID of the robotics and the drive, perform the following steps:

  1. Repeatedly press the MODE button on the Operator’s Panel until SET SCSI (Mode 6) appears on the first line of the LCD.
  2. Press the SELECT button.
    LdR_SCSI appears on the LCD.
  3. Press the SELECT button.
    LdR_ID <x> appears on the LCD, where x is the current SCSI ID.
  4. Press the NEXT button to select a higher ID, or the PREVIOUS button to select a lower ID.
  5. Press the SELECT button to accept the new ID for the robotics. DRV_ID <x> appears on the LCD, where x is the current SCSI ID.
  6. Press the NEXT button to select a higher ID, or the PREVIOUS button to select a lower ID.
  7. Press the SELECT button to accept the new ID for the drive.
    CYCLE_PWR (blinking) appears on the LCD for approximately 10 seconds.
  8. Press and hold the POWER button for 2 seconds to power down the PowerVault 120T.
  9. Wait a few seconds then press the POWER button again to power up the Powervault 120T.
    The new SCSI IDs are now in effect.

NOTE: You may need to power cycle your server and reconfigure your application software for them to see these new IDs as well.

You may need to change the SCSI ID default settings for your installation.

Your PowerVault 120T DLT Autoloader consists of two SCSI devices: the drive and the robotics. The default settings for the SCSI IDs are: LdR_Id 1, and dRV_Id 3. Depending upon your requirements, you may need to change the SCSI ID default settings for your installation.
