Autoruns


a) Autoruns is a free program startup monitoring programs that allows us to see what programs are configured to run during system boot up or login, and shows you the entries in the order Windows processes them


b) How to get Autoruns and Process Explorer?

a. Via browser: http://live.sysinternals.com/tools/

c) How to use Autoruns

a. Run as Administrator

b. Options > check Verify code signatures and Hide Microsoft entries > Rescan

c. Go to Logon Tab and uncheck which programs you do not want to run during startup.

d. Go to Everything Tab and uncheck unfamiliar programs that do not have Description and Publisher

e. NOTE: Before disabling an app, research online first if you are not familiar with it. Highlight program, Right Click > Search Online
