Troubleshooting the Interactive Light Pen on the Dell S320wi Projector

Issue 1: Cannot Use or Connect the Interactive Pen

Try the following solutions if you cannot use the interactive pen or cannot connect it to the projector:

  • Check if the input source is a valid PC source (VGA, HDMI, Wireless, or LAN).
  • Make sure the Interactive function is turned on: Menu > Advanced Settings > Interactive Settings > Interactive.
  • Make sure the Connection option is set correctly: Menu > Advanced Settings > Interactive Settings > Connection.
  • If using a Wireless or LAN connection, make sure the Wireless or LAN settings are turned on in the menu.
  • If using a Wireless or LAN connection, make sure the Dell Wireless Application Software is connected.
  • Make sure the lens is facing toward the screen.
  • Push any key to wake up the pen (except the Nib button).

Issue 2: The LED on the Pen Does Not Work

If the LED on the pen does not light up, check the battery.

Issue 3: The Amber LED is on Continuously

If the amber LED is lit continuously, the battery is low. Charge the Interactive Pen battery.

Issue 4: The Screen Shows "USB is Not Connected"

If the green LED is lit but the cursor does not move and the projector screen displays the message, "USB connection is not detected", check the mini USB cable connection between your computer and the S320wi projector.

Issue 5: Cannot Select Interactive

Make sure there is a PC input source (VGA, HDMI, Wireless, or LAN).

Issue 6: Cannot Use Pen in 3D Source

If you cannot use a pen with a 3D source:

  1. Be aware that this will only work with a VGA or HDMI source that is 120 Hz.
  2. Composite video, S-Video, or component output signals at 60 Hz are not supported by the 3D functionality of the projector.

Issue 7: Cannot Use Pen with Composite or S-Video

Composite Video or S-Video sources are not supported with the interactive light pen.

Issue 8: Cannot Use Nib

If the Nib is worn out, replace it with a new Nib.

Wireless USB function is not supported.
