Symptoms
The customer wants to add a LUN into a Consistency Group. This CG is replicated to a secondary Dell EMC Unity.
Received the below error :
The storage resource cannot be modified or deleted because it is participating in a replication session
Customer doesn't want to delete the replication because it's a very important production Database
Cause
If the customer deletes the replication session. we need to create it again but first have to delete the LUNs and CG on the target. Each time we need to modify the CG, a full sync will be necessary (9 TB).
Resolution
Customer is unable to add new lun (to have more space) in CG configured with replication. We can fulfil the same purpose by extending the existing luns in CG instead of adding new lun. There should not an issue while extending the exisitng lun
