What is Microsoft® Virtual Machine (VM)? - KB Article - 161508


The Microsoft® Virtual Machine is the software engine that runs Java code.

A Microsoft virtual machine CD was included with several past versions of Microsoft''s operating systems. The Microsoft virtual machine CD is no longer available.

Microsoft is unable to supply Microsoft virtual machine. Microsoft virtual machine enabled Windows to utilize certain Web-based content containing Java™ programming. Java is a registered trademark of Sun Microsystems.
