Why are the option bay items NOT interchangeable between the Inspiron 7000 and 7500? - Technical Tip - 164155

Each module is designed for a specific model of the Inspiron™ 7000 family.

The Dell® Inspiron 7000 family of computers ships with a variety of option bay modules (secondary batteries, optical drives, hard drives, zip drives, etc). These modules are designed exclusively for use in either the Mediabay or the Megabay. Each module is designed for a specific model of the Inspiron 7000 family.

Modules designed for a specific Inspiron model are not tested or validated for use in other systems within the Inspiron 7000 family. Therefore, they cannot be used or supported on systems other than the specific model for which they are designed.

NOTICE: Damage to a system or module caused by the improper use of a module(s) in a system it was not designed for is the sole responsibility of the consumer and will not be covered under Dell''s warranty.
