Delay When Playing Music Files
When playing music files (e.g., .MP3, .WMA) in Microsoft® Windows Media® Player 11 in Windows Vista®, you may experience one of the following problems:
A 6-10 second break of silence between each song with the message Media Changing.
The last 15-20 seconds of music stutters or skips.
This issue has not been reported in Windows XP when using Windows Media Player 11.
Disable All Audio Enhancements
Follow these instructions to correct this issue:
1 Click Start, and type sound.
2 Click Sound.
3 In the Sound window, click Speakers/Headphones and then Properties.
4 In the Speakers/Headphones Properties window, click the Enhancements tab.
5 Click to check the Disable All Enhancements checkbox.
6 Click Apply and then OK.
7 In the Speakers/Headphones Properties window, click Apply and then OK. The Sound window closes.
