Dell XPS 18 May Not Power On Immediately Out of Box
This article explains why the Dell XPS 18 system may seem unable to power on when first taken out of the package.
Unable to power on when first taken out of the Box
It may appear that the Dell XPS 18 does not power on immediately when first taken out of the box.
The Dell XPS 18 system is shipped in a special mode to prevent accidental battery discharge caused by the power button contacting the packaging materials.
Connect the AC Adapter
This is not a failure of the hardware or software. For initial power-on, the AC adapter must be attached to the system. Once it has been powered on for the first time, the device will then allow booting with or without the AC adapter attached as long as there is sufficient battery charge.
