Why am I prompted to insert media into slot "X" after using the import command with a Dell PowerVault 122T DLT VS80 Autoloader tape drive? - Technical Tip - 132733

Import (insert) a cartridge using the Operator Control panel on the front panel of the tape drive.

When using a Dell PowerVault 122T DLT VS80 and issuing an import command from the backup software, an informational screen appears indicating that media can now be added to the autoloader in slot "x".

NOTE:

The inject command is used in the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 native backup application.

Import (insert) a cartridge using the Operator Control panel on the front panel of the tape drive. Once the cartridge is imported, respond to the application by clicking OK.

NOTE:

For more information on using the Operator Control Panel on the PowerVault 122T, refer to the Operating the Autoloader sectino of the User''s Guide located at: http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/stor-sys/122T/en/ug/index.htm
