077-301 Close Side Cover Error on Dell™ 2135cn Laser Printer



1. Verify the print media installed is compatible with the printer. For more information about the types and sizes of print media that can be used for a specific tray, refer to the Online User's Guide.

Note: For testing purposes, use 20 lb. plain white paper.

2. Open and close the side door where the toner goes. Make sure that the door latches properly and that there are no signs of damage.

3. There is damage to the side door: Please call Dell Technical Support

4. There is no damage to the side door: Reseat the four toner cartridges.

To Re-seat Toner Cartridges:

-> Open the printer side door cover.

-> Slide the latch for the top toner cartridge compartment to the unlocked position (to the right)



-> Swing the toner cartridge compartment outward until it clicks into the open position



-> Slide the toner cartridge out of the toner compartment



-> Reseat the toner cartridge back in the compartment until it snaps into position.

NOTE: The toner cartridges are keyed to their specific compartments. Make sure you are putting the correct colour of toner into the correct compartment.

-> Swing the toner compartment back into place and while holding it there, slide the latch back into the locked position.

-> Repeat steps to remove and reseat all four toner cartridges.

-> Close the side cover door.

5. Determine if the same error is still displayed on the printer LCD:

-> The error is not longer displayed on the printer LCD: Problem is resolved.

-> The same error is still displayed on the printer LCD: Please call Dell Technical Support.
