How to Download the Latest Broadcom USH Drivers and Resolve Unknown Device Issues



For help with obtaining and installing the drivers for the Broadcom Unified Security Hub (USH) w/swipe sensor, and how to resolve unknown devices issues after a clean install of Windows, select one of the options below.

1. Obtaining Broadcom Unified Security Hub (USH) W/Swipe Sensor Drivers

Refer to Table 1 below for a direct link to the latest driver available for your computer, arranged by Operating System. For help installing the drivers, refer to the installation instructions on the driver page.

Note: The table does does not include Windows 8(8.1) or Windows 10 drivers for the Broadcom Unified Security Hub (USH) w/swipe sensor as they are not available. However, you may be able to install the drivers by using compatibility mode, but Dell does not guarantee that the process will work on your computer.
  • When your computer is not listed in Table 1, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article Drivers and Downloads FAQ's, to see if these drivers are available for your computer. The Broadcom USH drivers are included in the Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack. This pack is located in the ControlPoint category for your computer when available. Refer to Table 2 for the devices the software provides drivers for.

  • The Dell ControlPoint software is not the same as the Dell ControlVault software. When you are looking for ControlVault software, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article Drivers and Downloads FAQ's, for information on how to download and install drivers on your computer. When the ControlVault drivers are available they are located in the Security category for your computer.

  • You do not need to install the Dell ControlPoint System Manager software for the drivers to work.

2. Resolving Unknown Devices Issues After a Clean Install of Windows

After a clean install of Windows there may be one or more listing(s) in Device Manager that read as a Unknown device.

Install all the drivers available in the Chipset category available for your computer on Dell Support. For more information, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article How do I download and install a device driver?

Note: Dell also has an automated detect tool that may be offered for your Dell computer that detects required drivers and utilities updates and also installs them on your Dell computer. For more information, refer to the Dell Knowledge Base article Drivers by System Analysis or Detect Drivers.
