How do I install the SigmaTel STAC 9750 AC97 audio driver in the Microsoft Windows XP operating system on my Dell Latitude D600 notebook? - Software Reinstall Guide - 132296




Install the Drivers, Utilities, and Applications CD

  1. Insert the Drivers, Utilities, and Applications CD into the CD drive.

  2. Click OK.

  3. Click Next.

  4. Click Finish.



Install the Sigmatel STAC 9700 AC97 Audio Driver From the Drivers, Utilities, and Applications CD

  1. Insert the Drivers, Utilities, and Applications CD in the CD drive.
    The message Welcome Dell System Owner appears.

  2. Click the Next button.

  3. Click to select your system from the System Model section.

  4. Click to select your Operating System from the Operating System section.

  5. Click to select Drivers from the Topic section.
    The list of available drivers appears.

  6. Click to select SIGMATEL STAC 9700 AC97 Audio driver.
    The description SIGMATEL STAC 9700 AC97 windows Audio Driver appears.

  7. Scroll to the bottom and click the Extract button.
    The Audio:STAC 9700 AC97 Driver window appears.

  8. Click the Continue button.
    The message Select the folder where you want to unzip the files to appears.

  9. Click the OK button.
    A message appears asking if you want to create the folder.

NOTE NOTE: If a message appears asking to overwrite the folder, click the Yes to All button.
  1. Click the Yes button.
    The message All files were successfully unzipped appears.

  2. Click the OK button.
    The SIGMATEL AC97 Audio Driver Setup window appears.

  3. Click the Next button.
    The message InstallShield Wizard Complete appears.

  4. Click the Finish button.
